Why Garlic?
GARLIC is a powerhouse of health and immune-boosting benefits! If you’re not already regularly incorporating fresh garlic into your daily routine, then maybe after reading this you’ll want to start using it more!
Why garlic?
- It contains compounds with potent medicinal healing properties; anti-fungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial.
- Is highly nutritious, but has very few calories.
- Garlic can combat sickness, including the common cold.
- The active compounds in garlic can reduce blood pressure.
- Garlic improves cholesterol levels and may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
- Garlic is rich in antioxidants.
- Garlic can also help the body release heavy metals, due to the sulfur it contains and how that aids the body in purging heavy metals (something your body is not capable of doing on its own without assistance).
Garlic must be consumed raw and either crushed, sliced or chewed to release the most powerful healing properties. Letting it rest for 10-15 minutes after crushing/slicing will also increase potency. When cooking, add it at the end, so that it receives the least amount of heat and maintains the highest levels of healing properties.
Can you still get benefits from using dried & powdered garlic? Yes, but just know that the highest potency of healing properties will always be found in the fresh clove. The only difference will be if you cannot get a good quality fresh bulb, then a good quality dried powder will be your next best! Just remember that the more something is crushed up and dried out the more prone it is to degradation through oxidation, meaning that the potent properties shared above are minimized, so you have to eat higher quantities of powder to get the same benefit as a couple cloves of garlic can provide to the body.
