Hi, you!

I’m a wife and mama who loves all things health and wellness. I ask questions and regularly challenge the “we’ve always done it this way, so why stop now” narrative. My goal in the work I do in this Clean Becky space is to plant seeds of empowering information as a partner with you on your own clean living journey. Progress over perfection always. We can do it all, but not all in one day. One positive, clean living step at a time.

  • This man of mine has the patience of a saint. From business issues to existential crises at 11pm, I’m a lucky girl.
Being a small business owner isn’t for the faint of heart, but if you do have a faint heart, my hubby can probably help problem solve that too. Honestly though, this space of social media, small business things and creating cute content to show “my doors are open, I’m here, let me help” is the weirdest world of all.

Yes, this is a reenactment. Yes I know my phone isn’t in the case. It’s for the bit. And content. You hate it? Oh well. lol. Can’t please everyone. Not even gonna try. #sorrynotsorry

  • The juggling act of what is expected of humans on this planet at this point in history is wild.
Did you know we are the first generation in all of human history with 24/7 access to all the world’s problems?

Keynote: Technology has outpaced the human capacity to handle the information. We weren’t meant to process all the world’s chaos; and when we try, it only creates stress, anxiety and frustration.

Have a general idea of what’s happening in the world (and in your specific community), but ground yourself in the peace of knowing that you can’t solve the world’s problems. We just don’t have the ability to fully hold each corner of gut wrenching story, let alone comment and have a grounded and informed opinion about each event either.

Do what you can do to love your family, serve your community and make a positive impact where you can, but be wise in where you can lean in to offer a helping hand and where you need to lay these heavy, complex and anxiety inducing events at the feet of Jesus. Pray for wisdom in what He’s calling you to pickup and what you need to lay down. And fresh baked bread and touching grass are always a good idea😘.

  • If you’ve ever picked fresh elderberries and have wondered how to dry them, here is the very simple way I do it. I’m not an expert by any means and the most ideal way to dry these would be in a dehydrator to retain the most powerhouse elements of this little berry, but for those of us without a dehydrator this is the next best thing.
⭐️FYI: DO NOT EAT Raw Elderberries. Cooking removes the cyanogenic glycosides & lectins (no bueno to consume).

Easy Steps:
1. PICK fresh Elderberries - Ideal time here in Colorado is the first two weeks of August.
2. FREEZE the fresh elderberries in a sealed bag in the freezer (easier to remove from stems & buys you some time until you can dry them).
3. REMOVE from freezer and QUICKLY pull berries from stems (if they thaw they get super mushy and hard to handle) onto parchment lined baking sheets. Remove leaves & as many stems as possible. Not necessary to remove all.
4. TURN oven on to LOWEST setting. Ideal to be between 125-140.
5. DRY. I would check mine every 2-3 hours. Mine took 10 hours to be completely dry. Yours may be more or less.
6. STORE in a glass airtight container. They will last a long time in a cool, dark location.
7. MAKE Elderberry syrup as usual.

*about 1 gallon of picked fresh berries dried to about 5cups!

  • Avoid the seed oils, propellants and artificial flavorings of the cold foam that is being sold everywhere these days and make your own! It’s so easy!

I tweaked it from my normal of using brown sugar instead of powdered sugar, but after taste testing this combo many times I found that the powdered sugar more consistently mixed into the cream to create a more balanced flavor profile that blended more seamlessly into the cold brew.

Recipe:
1/2c organic heavy cream
1t organic pumpkin puree
2T organic powdered sugar or 2T brown sugar or coconut sugar if you prefer. I’ve made it with all 3 and powdered sugar is the smoothest.
1/4t pumpkin spice
1/4t cinnamon
1/2t vanilla

Pour all into a small jar with screw top lid. Shake well for 1-2 mins or until desired consistency is achieved. I like it a little runnier so it flows into the cold brew. When it’s thicker it tends to separate in the cold brew. Top with a little dash of cinnamon or pumpkin spice. Recipe above should make 2 bevvies, unless you do a heavy pour into one😉. Mixture lasts in the fridge 3-4 days. Shake lightly each time you go to use it, as the ingredients can separate a bit between uses.

I love using @longmontdairy cold brew & heavy cream🤩

Comment below or tag me when you make this! Let me know if you like it as is or if you make additional tweaks!
