FREE Holiday Simmering Potpourri Gift Tag

This time of year is WILD. Absolutely unhinged. Maybe it just feels crazy if you’ve got school aged kiddos, but holy wow! Just trying to hold on for dear life at this point. Deep breaths. Finding moments to ground me. Here’s a short list of how I’m surviving: - Prioritizing moving my body daily - Finding moments that slow me down; taking care of my houseplants, pausing to connect with a neighbor, sipping a cup of coffee with my husband. It’s amazing what a boost even a few minutes of intentionally slowing down can do for your body & mind that is racing. - Pausing to eat nutrient dense foods, instead of quick and fast. - Staying hydrated; lemon water, electrolyte boosted or herbal teas. - Simplifying and saying no where I can and at other times just embracing the flow of this season. - Connecting with my people, because it’s good to be reminded that you’re not the only one trying to hold onto this ride. - Laying on my @pranamat every night - holy wow on the decompression magic of pressing your body into spikes to relax🤩. - And yes, DAILY tidying and decluttering of my home, not because I’m striving for perfect, but because I know an orderly home brings a peace and calm that is worth protecting for myself and my family. So. We’re gonna make it thru…right? Asking for a friend😉.

In this small way we rebel against a culture that tells us we need to synthetically alter, numb and discard the gift of aging that we get to experience. A gift that allows us the privilege to witness a life well lived. A life where we give ourselves permission to age gracefully. Where we melt into the embrace that wisdom & grace weaves into each gray hair, fine line and dimple of softness. I’m not suggesting we forget to care for ourselves or nourish our bodies or do things to support aging well, but what I am suggesting is to stop the madness of trying to avoid aging altogether and stop communicating to our daughters that aging is bad and wrong and must be avoided. “One day my face will show: that I have loved & lost that I have frowned & fought. that I have yearned & cried. that I have celebrated & smiled. I’m so for real! Why can’t we get a Mother’s Day in July or January? Really, it had to be May? Don’t mind me just pausing for a steam facial by opening my dishwasher mid cycle. Works quite well between grocery runs, kitchen cleanup, laundry, emails, phone calls, laundry, pet care, kid care, homework support, music lessons, end of school plays & performances, squeezing some work in there for a minute or two, did I mention laundry? 🫠 Wouldn’t trade motherhood for the world. It’s a sweet gift that I’m so incredibly grateful for, that I know isn’t always a guarantee, but we should really rethink the timing of this special day😂! Amiright? Just to name a few! Fragrance will always be my number one! If you simply start watching for fragrance in your personal care products and avoid it, it will reduce not only the options available, but will also dramatically reduce the chemicals you’re putting on your skin every day! After School Snacks are the REAL MVP in refueling kiddos who don’t always eat well during the school day (i.e. short lunch times, packaged snacks that are easy to keep in their backpacks, but aren’t always as filling as I would like, etc.). So while I focus on bookending their days with nutrient dense meals, our lives after school and hubs work schedule don’t allow us to do early dinners, so hearty, nutrient dense after school snacks is how we make it to family dinner time.
